Ogasawara Islands 50th anniversary of reversion commemorative Okinotorishima inspection tour will be held.

Ogasawara-maru will be sailing to Okinotorishima from Chichijima, circling outside the atoll of Okinotorishima, and Kitakomura, Higashiokajima will be will be inspected from the ship. We are also planing a lecture by Professor Yoshihiko Yamada of Tokai University Ocean College, stargazing event, and a wall panel / model exhibition.

Commemoration coin will be issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the return of the Ogasawara Islands to Japan from U.S. occupation

The designs are linked  to the  representative views, flowers and wild animals  of Ogasawara.

The premium commemoration coin is made of noble metals with specific technologies, although the face value is 1,000yen, it will sell for ¥9,000 each.

Applications to purchase the coin will be starting from March 16th, and it will be delivered around June.
